Tim is the Founder of and a Managing Partner at AlphaMundi Group Ltd (AMG) since 2008, an advisory firm dedicated to impact investing. AMG has invested over USD 130M in 60 impact ventures in Latin America and Africa, through private debt and equity. He serves as the Chair of the SocialAlpha Investment Fund (SAIF) in Luxembourg and the Chair of the Investment Committee of the AlphaJiri Investment Fund (AJIF) in Mauritius.
Tim sits on the board of the charitable AlphaMundi Foundation in Washington DC and on the Board of Latimpacto in Colombia, a charitable association of more than 200 institutional impact investors in Latin America. He also chairs the Finance Committee of the Peace Nexus Foundation in Switzerland, supervises a family investment trust and is a partner in a real estate development project in Geneva.
Previously, Tim worked at MSCI as an Emerging Markets analyst and at UBS Wealth Management in various roles, helping to launch UBS Philanthropy Services. He also evaluated microfinance programs in Bolivia for the Swiss Development Agency and served as a fundraising advisor to WWF International.
Tim holds a Political Science degree from the University of Geneva and a Private Banking Diploma from UBS and is fluent in French, English, and Spanish.
José Darío is a Managing Director of AMG LATAM, with 14 years of experience in finance including project finance, company valuation, financial modeling, financial planning, loan structuring and economic research. Josè led Alphamundi’s LATAM team through several transactions including secured loans to 3 FinTech’s, a loan to a Mexican real estate developer, the analysis of low-income housing project in Colombia, a secured loan to Mexican microfinance institution, among other investments. Before joining AMG in May 2020, Jose worked as the equity manager, fund structuring manager and BI director of an asset manager; worked in financial planning (restructured loans worth USD 150M) and worked at a boutique investment bank in transaction related to public transport, Telcom providers, energy, agriculture, and infrastructure. Jose holds a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de Los Andes and a MBA from IE Business School.
Clare has 17 years of professional experience primarily in impact investments and strategy consulting across Europe and Africa. Since 2015 she has been based in sub-Saharan Africa and working across the agriculture, finance, retail and WASH sectors. She has advised a range of impact investors, development organizations and local businesses across East and Southern Africa. Previously she was an Associate Partner for nine years at OC&C Strategy Consultants (a leading UK strategy consulting firm). She has participated in the analysis, due diligence, structuring, execution and exit of several transactions (worth over USD 500 million) in Kenya, Tanzania, the UK and Europe. Clare holds a BA in Economics and Management from Oxford University.
Maria Daniela brings 9 years of experience in Finance, demonstrating a strong commitment to driving positive change. Her expertise in Corporate Finance spans project valuation, financial modelling, and investment strategies across diverse sectors such as agribusiness, renewable energy, airport infrastructure (PPPs), and hospitality. With a proven track record in asset management and notable achievements at a leading private equity firm in Colombia, Maria Daniela has provided strategic guidance on 2 Boards of Directors, fostering sustainable growth and profitability. She has excelled in evaluating new projects, leveraging financial models to optimize outcomes, including supporting extensions to airport concession contracts. Moreover, she has experience in credit analysis. Some highlights in her career include raising approximately USD 4 million in debt financing, devising business plans to enhance operational metrics in agribusiness, and overseeing debt restructuring totalling around USD 5 million. Maria Daniela has also contributed to financial modelling for an equity acquisition valued at approximately USD 13.5 million. She holds a BSc in Finance and International Relations from Universidad Externado de Colombia, as well as an MSc in Finance from the
Juan David joined AlphaMundi as investment analyst in January 2024, after a 6-month internship with AlphaMundi. Mr Leon has participated in multiple transactions in Alphamundi across diverse sectors such as renewable energy, finance, and education. He has a bachelor’s degree in Business management from the Universidad de los Andes of Bogotá, Colombia where he got experience in consulting projects with an oil & gas company and research of sustainable supply chain. Mr. Leon participated in an academic exchange at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois (2018-2019) and is fluent in Spanish and English.
