Founder & Managing Partner

Tim Radjy

Tim RADJY is the Founder of and a Managing Partner at AlphaMundi Group Ltd (AMG) in Switzerland since 2008, the Chairman of the SocialAlpha Investment Fund (SAIF) SICAV-SIF launched by AMG in Luxembourg in 2009, and the Chair of the Investment Committee of the AlphaJiri Investment Fund (AJIF) registered in Mauritius in 2019. Since 2009, AMG has profitably invested more than USD 100 million in some 60 impact ventures in Latin America and Africa, through private debt and equity.
Tim is the Treasurer of the AlphaMundi Foundation 501c3 (AMF) in Washington DC since its inception in 2017, which has allocated some USD 3M in grants to date. He is also the Founder and Chair of the Gender Lens Initiative for Switzerland (GLIS), a working group created in 2021 by the non-profit association Sustainable Finance Geneva (SFG) to enhance Switzerland’s contribution to SDG5. Additionally, in 2022 Tim joined the Board of Directors of the non-profit Latimpacto, the premier network of impact-driven investors in Latin America.
Tim previously worked for a year at MSCI in Geneva as an Emerging Markets index analyst, and for 7 years at UBS Wealth Management in Zurich mostly, where he integrated the Family Office Consulting Group and then became a founding member of UBS Philanthropy Services for UHNWI clients. He also spent time in Bolivia, assessing microfinance programs on behalf of the Swiss Development Agency in 2006, and served as a fundraising advisor to WWF International in 2009-2010. Tim was listed among the 100 personalities of Switzerland for the transition to sustainability by the national daily Le Temps in 2019. He holds a Degree in Political Science from the University of Geneva and a Private Banking Diploma from UBS, gives occasional lectures on impact investing at various universities, and is fluent in French, English and Spanish. Tim is based in Geneva, Switzerland.

Managing Director

David Maina

David MAINA has been with AlphaMundi for over 8 years and is currently Managing Director. At AlphaMundi, David has overseen over 30 transactions. He is based in Nairobi, Kenya, with over 17 years’ experience in the financial sector. He previously worked at Abraaj Group as an Associate, where he was instrumental in the implementation of a Fund Accounting and Portfolio Management ERP, and also worked in the investment department. Prior to joining Abraaj, he was working in a corporate finance firm focusing on small and medium enterprises. David holds a Bachelor of Education in Economics and Mathematics from Moi University and is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA) from Strathmore University. He is currently pursuing an MBA in Finance and Strategic Management from the United States International University – Africa (USIU).

Director

José Darío Lozano

José Darío LOZANO is a Managing Director of AMG LATAM, with 14 years of experience in finance including project finance, company valuation, financial modeling, financial planning, loan structuring and economic research. Josè led Alphamundi’s LATAM team through several transactions including secured loans to 3 FinTech’s, a loan to a Mexican real estate developer, the analysis of low-income housing project in Colombia, a secured loan to Mexican microfinance institution, among other investments. Before joining AMG in May 2020, Jose worked as the equity manager, fund structuring manager and BI director of an asset manager; worked in financial planning (restructured loans worth USD 150M) and worked at a boutique investment bank in transaction related to public transport, Telcom providers, energy, agriculture, and infrastructure. Jose holds a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de Los Andes and a MBA from IE Business School.

Brad Vanderford

Brad VANDERFORD is an Investment Manager based in Nairobi, Kenya, where he is currently overseeing 2 transactions. Brad brings with him over 8 years of experience in impact investing, venture capital and development finance across a wide range of sectors including agriculture, manufacturing, financial services, education, and healthcare. He has been part of 25 transactions spanning pre-seed to growth equity. Prior to AlphaMundi, Brad ran a consultancy that delivers impact investment & economic development advisory. He provided investment and portfolio advisory to the East Africa office of Antler, a global early-stage VC firm and helped a DFID innovation fund manager in Kenya establish its investment process and invest in its first cohort. Brad holds an MBA from the University of Oxford.

Daniel Silva

Daniel SILVA has 11 years of professional experience primarily in investments and management consulting across Latin America. Before joining AlphaMundi Daniel worked at Prudential Real Estate Investors in Mexico City, Inverlink Real Estate Private Equity (a leading regional investment bank), and Matrix Consulting (a leading regional management consulting firm) based in Bogota. He has participated in the analysis, due diligence, structuring, execution and exit of several transactions (worth over USD 500 million) in Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Panama. Daniel holds a BSc in Management from Tulane University and an MBA from Yale School of Management.

Gabriel Etonga

Gabriel ETONGA is an Investment Manager with AlphaMundi, where he is currently overseeing 2 transactions. Gabriel has over 7 years experience in end-to-end investment management having worked in private equity and development finance. He has structured and managed equity, debt, mezzanine, and fund investments across all stages of the investment cycle. His experience spans companies in the various stages of the growth cycle, ranging from start-ups to mature businesses. Gabriel holds a BSC (Electrical and Electronic Engineering) degree from the University of Nairobi and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He is currently pursuing an MSC in Finance from the University of Nairobi and is a candidate in the Level III exam of the CFA program.

Estefanía Abello

Estefania ABELLO has over 8 years experience in private markets in LATAM having worked in investment banking. She has experience in analysis, valuation, advising, structuring, and executing financial transactions in multiple sectors such as fintech, foodtech, waste management, public transport, real estate and microfinance. She has been responsible for valuations from companies with assets of more than USD 1 Billion. She holds a bachelor degree in Finances and Foreign Relations degree from the University Externado and has the CFA designation since 2018. She joined AlphaMundi in July 2021 and has overseen 4 transactions

Senior Associate

Pekka Halla

Pekka HALLA is a Senior Associate at AlphaMundi in Switzerland. He has 9 years of professional experience in engineering, research and project coordination. Prior to AMG, he worked at EPFL as a researcher in sustainability on the themes of sustainability standards, assessments and SDG indicators, climate, governance and stakeholder engagement. Previously, he was a development project coordinator at InnoAid India and Denmark, and a Senior Engineer in R&D projects for wireless technologies at Nokia. Pekka holds a PhD in Environmental Engineering from EPFL, a MSc in Socio-Ecological Economics, a BSc. In Business Administration and Sociology and a MSc. In Technology.

Sebastián Uribe

Sebastián URIBE has 4 years of experience in impact investing, project structuring and financial planning. Before joining AlphaMundi, Sebastián worked as a financial analyst for Campo Capital, an agriculture and forestry asset manager, working in the financial structuring of agroforestry, forestry and agricultural projects in Colombia and Peru. Sebastián holds a BSc in Business Administration and Economics from Universidad de los Andes in Colombia. Since joining AlphaMundi, he has been involved in various transactions including 3 microfinance institutions in Ecuador and Mexico, 2 fintechs in Mexico and Colombia, and 1 telecommunications company in Ecuador, among other investments.

Eliana Summer-Galai

Eliana SUMMER-GALAI is an Associate at AlphaMundi in Switzerland. She has over 10 years experience working in the impact sector, in humanitarian and development ecosystems. Previously Eliana worked as Country Director for a non-profit in South Sudan, implementing emergency protection programs for women and children. Prior to that Eliana worked as a consultant, both with Dalberg Global Development Advisors and as an independent consultant. She also has private sector experience, working with several start -ups in Israel. Eliana holds a MSc (distinction) in Prosperity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship from University College London, a BA (cum laude) in Government, Diplomacy and Strategy from the Reichman University in Israel, as well as a Certificate in European Studies from the Center for European Studies, and a Certificate in Sustainability Sciences from the University of Tokyo.

Angélica Giraldo

Angélica GIRALDO has 1 year of experience in impact investing. She holds a double BSc in Business and Economics, and two minors in French Language and Culture and Design from Los Andes University. She participated in two cultural and academic exchanges, one at University of St. Gallen (HSG) in Switzerland (2018) and one at Luigi Bocconi University in Italy (2020). Angelica is fluent in Spanish and English, and has a conversational level of French. She joined Alphamundi in June 2021 and is currently overseeing 2 transactions, additionally she is involved in the impact management and measurement processes.

José Daniel Reyes

José Daniel REYES SILVA is a Fellow at AlphaMundi in Switzerland. He is pursuing a M.A. Programme in Development Studies at the Geneva Graduate Institute (IHEID), with a specialisation in Environment, Resources, and Sustainability. He holds a B.A. in International Relations from Universidad del Rosario, and has a year of work experience in multilateral institutions, diplomatic missions, and UN human rights mechanisms. Additionally, he has collaborated in multiple research projects, among which stands a consultancy related to mining projects in Latin America, and a panel discussion at the Colombian Network of International Relations focused on Latin American political and economic integration. José Daniel has a particular interest in conservation and sustainable development. Accordingly, he has led and supported different projects both in his native Colombia, as well as hand-in-hand with the Environmental Committee and the Latin American Network Initiative at the IHEID.

Jade Sillere

Jade SILLERE is a Fellow at AlphaMundi in Switzerland, where she is involved in the impact management and measurement processes. In addition, she assists AlphaMundi’s fundraising activities and market-building initiatives. Previously, Jade worked in the private sector as an investment banking analyst for Deutsche Bank in London, arranging financing and acquisition transactions for companies in the natural resources and real estate sectors. Prior to that, Jade has interned with start-ups and established multinationals in Dubai. She is fluent in French and English and has a conversational level in both Arabic and Spanish. Jade holds a BSc (First-Class Honours) in Statistics, Economics, and Finance from University College London.

FELLOW​

Trisha Mani

Trisha is a Fellow at AlphaMundi in Switzerland, focusing on gender lens investing, climate governance and impact management. She has 5 years of work experience in sustainable finance, impact evaluation and private banking. Previously, Trisha worked as an Impact Consultant with Developing World Markets (DWM), a global financial institution focused on impact investments and microfinance in emerging markets. Prior to this, she worked with the United Nations (UNEP FI) in Geneva, where she supported the development of the Portfolio Impact Analysis Tools that help financial institutions measure and report their impact. Trisha also has experience in wealth management and venture capital, having worked with the Citigroup in India and UBERIS, an impact investment fund in Cambodia. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in International Economics at The Graduate Institute, Geneva (IHEID) and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai.
